MARGAO: Protesters in Margao rallied passionately, urging all MLAs to join them in demanding action against Subhash Velingkar. The protesters expressed their frustration, especially toward MLAs who had defected to the BJP, accusing them of neglecting the sentiments of the people.
"Where are the MLAs who always take the front row seats at the feast of St Francis Xavier in Old Goa?" the protesters questioned, voicing their distress over the absence of most MLAs, with only a few expressing support for their cause.
Agostinho Fernandes, a prominent protester, criticised the silence of many MLAs, stating, "It is a shame on the MLAs who failed to even utter a word on the issue that has driven thousands of people to the streets." He said this was a moment for Goa's leaders to show their dedication to the community but lamented that many had chosen to remain silent.
