Teachers, students, and parents of Govt Primary School Cumbarjua reached Azad Maidan on their seventh day of protest against the transfer of their headmistress, which they claim is due to political interference and revenge politics. The protesting group alleged that the transfer was orchestrated under pressure from a local MLA in retaliation for the headmistress accepting a donation of an LED TV for the school from a social worker. The teachers remain steadfast in their protest and vow to continue until the matter is resolved.
On the occasion of teacher’s day, the protest to bring back the headmistress who was transferred to Ponda, enters its seventh day with students, parents and teachers of the Govt Primary School Cumbarjua continuing their agitation at Azad Maidan
Activist Rama Kankonkar alleged that MLA Rajesh Phaldesaai directed education director to transfer the teacher. Rama further questions that why did the education director comply to the MLAs request when the teacher had followed all the protocols?
