PANJIM: The body of a woman who allegedly jumped off the Siridao bridge in the Thursday morning was recovered by the Fire and Emergency Services.
Old Goa Station Fire Officer (SFO) R D Parab stated that they received a call at around 10.38 am stating that a woman had jumped into the river and immediately a team of 10 fire personnel under the leadership of Sub-Officer Pandurang Kanconkar and rushed to the spot.
A boat was requisitioned from Panjim Fire Station and a search operation was started. The team spotted the body and retrieved it at around 1 pm under the supervision of Panjim SFO Rupesh Sawant.
"Though the body has not been identified it appeared that she was aged around 40-45 years. After the panchanama, the body was sent to GMC morgue for post-mortem,” Parab said.
