The first All Goa Cadet Athletic Meet for boys and girls in the Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, and Under-14 age categories was held on Saturday in Cuncolim. The event was organised by Goan Athletics in collaboration with Maria Bambina Convent High School, Cuncolim, and saw the participation of over 400 young athletes competing across various track and field events.
The meet was formally inaugurated with a felicitation ceremony, during which retired SAI coach Awadhesh Kumar Pal was honoured for his contribution to grassroots-level training, and SAG coach Patrick Soares was recognised for nurturing young athletic talent in Goa. Both coaches were also felicitated for their long-term dedication to the field of athletics in the state.
