VASCO: The Goa Pradesh Youth Congress (GPYC) launched its “Chalo Panchayat, Chalo Ward” initiative on Friday in the Mormugao constituency, commencing with a cleanliness drive near Pilot Point. GPYC working president Mahesh Nadar emphasized that the campaign aims to engage with the youth and address the issues they face.
The initiative coincided with the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, with many young volunteers participating in the cleanup to honor their legacies. Nadar highlighted Gandhi's message of cleanliness as a guiding principle for the campaign.
Congress leader and OBC Cell chairman Nitin Chopdekar commended the youth for their efforts and encouraged them to sustain their commitment to community service. He remarked, "Our youths are the future of the nation."
