MARGAO: Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as ‘BeerBiceps’ online, and his companion narrowly escaped drowning at Majorda beach after being caught in a strong undercurrent on December 24. The pair were rescued by an off-duty IPS officer and his IRS officer wife, as Allahbadia detailed in an Instagram post on Christmas night.
Around 6 PM, Allahbadia and his girlfriend were swimming when they were pulled under by a powerful current. Despite being an experienced swimmer accustomed to open-sea swimming; the struggled to escape while attempting to rescue his companion, who is also a swimmer. "The fury of nature will test your limits …It's easy to swim out of one alone. It's very hard to pull someone out with you," he noted.
The situation turned critical when Allahbadia began losing consciousness after swallowing water. They shouted for help and were saved by a family of five swimming nearby. “Deep gratitude to the family of the IPS officer husband and IRS officer wife who saved us both. He also shared that the experience left them "grateful for being alive."
Allahbadia described the experience as life-changing, saying it gave him a renewed perspective on living. “We lived for a reason! Merry Christmas to you all. Thank you, God, for life,” he concluded. His post, featuring moments from their Goa trip, has since gone viral.
