Good response during Road Safety week in Goa, but accidents haven’t come down: Roland Martins
PANJIM: There has been a good response to Road
Safety during the Road Safety week but the number of accidents haven’t come down, Member of North Goa District Road Safety Committee said after the meeting at the Collectorate Building Panjim.
He said it was suggested that alcometres would be distributed to police and to KTC and messages would be flashed on the EV city buses to encourage road safety. Meanwhile, SP Traffic Prabodh Shirvoikar said 5037 cases were booked by Traffic Cells during road safety week.
SP Traffic Prabodh Shirvokar told media that this time the focus has been on education road users on traffic safety. A total of 5037 cases were booked during Road Safety Week by All Traffic Cells (from14/10/2024 to 20/10/2024), he stated. A total of 8668 people were educated including school students, truck drivers, pedestrians, workers, etc.
