Govt plans to simplify rules to expedite partition cases

PANJIM: In a bid to expedite the partition cases, the State government has drafted Rules to further amend the Goa, Daman and Diu Land Revenue (Partition of Holding) Rules, 1969, wherein the Collector would be tasked with issuing notices to land holders after conducting hearings. 

“The Collector may, if he is satisfied that partition could be affected by issuing notices to holders of the holdings adjoining the holding of applicant in the same survey number and/or persons sharing common boundary along with applicant, issue such notice and effect partition after hearing them,” reads the draft copy. 

The draft rules are kept open for 15 days for objections and suggestions from “all persons likely to be affected.” After all the applications are received, the notification states, ‘may be forwarded to the Secretary of the Government of Goa, Revenue Department before the expiry of the said period of 15 days from the date of publication of this notification so that they may be taken into consideration at the time of finalization of the said rules’

On the mutation subject, the government has notified the rules to further amend the Goa, Daman and Diu Land Revenue (City Survey) Rules. The government had not received any suggestion and/or objections from the public after which it notified the rules.
