Govt, PSUs directed to procure ICT equipment via ITG

MARGAO: The State government, PSUs and other autonomous bodies have been directed to procure all ICT equipment, such as desktop computers, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, UPSs etc. for office use through Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited (ITG).

The service is not free. A 5% commission on the cost of the equipment along with additional GST tax of around 18% on the commission has to be paid to ITG by the government departments, PSUs and autonomous bodies for their services.

The order, which was passed on 15/6/2018, states that ITG has been nominated as State Designated Agency for executing the procurement of all ICT equipment for all government departments, PSUs and autonomous bodies since "it has been noticed that there are various issues for undertaking procurement for each department/PSU etc such as non presence of IT domain experts, calling for individual quotations etc"

The State government departments, PSUs and autonomous bodies have to also obtain an NOC from Department of Information Technology and other competent authorities before placing the order with ITG.
