PANJIM: The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) has initiated a search for Chief Electrical Engineer (CEE) for the electricity department on deputation mode as no electrical engineers are eligible for promotion to this senior position.
The Commission had recently relaxed the experience requirement among the Executive Engineers to be promoted to Superintending Engineers. The relaxation fetched satisfactory response as five such officials were promoted, however none of them have met the requirements for promotion to the rank of the Additional Chief Electrical Engineer or the Chief Electrical Engineer.
"Recently the Commission had advertised for filling the post of Chief Electrical Engineer through deputation and two candidates were interviewed. However none were found suitable," GPSC Commission Jose Manuel Noronha told Herald on being contacted for a comment on the issue.
It is learnt that the Commission is yet again advertising for this position.
"We are hopeful that a suitable candidate is recommended after a screening process," Noronha said.
