MARGAO: The revered Gulal Utsav of Shri Kamakshi Devi at Shiroda was joyously celebrated on Tuesday with fervor and enthusiasm.
This annual event, organised by Shree Kamakshi Saunsthan Shiroda, attracts a multitude of devotees not just from across Goa, but neighbouring Karnataka as well.
Following the completion of all religious rituals at the temple, devotees gathered in the evening to offer Gulal to Shri Kamakshi Devi. The atmosphere resonated with chants of "Jai Kamakshi" as devotees exchanged Gulal with one another.
Throughout the afternoon, devotees participated in religious ceremonies, seeking blessings from Shree Kamakshi before engaging in the joyful exchange of gulal with each other, regardless of caste or creed.
The festivities commenced with the procession of Shree Kamakshi Devi seated in a palanquin, followed by traditional rituals and prayers in the Sabha Mantap. Devotees then offered Gulal to Shree Kamakshi. The revelry continued late into the evening.
