PANJIM: Kapil Phadte has been elected as the President of the Association of Goa Civil Service Officers (AGCSO) following the formation of a new Executive Committee. The announcement was made during a general body meeting held on January 28.
The new committee will be led by President Kapil Phadte, with Manohar Karekar as Vice President, Dattaraj Gauns Desai as Secretary, Sanjana Dipak Bandekar as Joint Secretary, and Pranav Bhat as Treasurer. The members of the executive committee include Vipul Naik Gaokar, Vivek Krishna Naik, Taha Haziq, Shubham Naik, Suyash Khandeparkar and Manthan Manish Naik.
This election comes after widespread criticism of the association for failing to hold elections for the past eight years and for its perceived inability to address the concerns of its members.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Secretary of Goa, V Candavelou, who was the chief guest at the event, emphasised the critical role of Goa Civil Service (GCS) Officers as the ‘steel frame’ of the country. He urged the association to organise meetings more frequently to strengthen its functioning and address the needs of its members effectively.
