BELGAUM: In a shocking incident of road rage, Ex- Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar aged 68 years died when he was slapped, after an altercation with a Rickshaw driver. According to Belgaum Police there was an accident between Lavoo’s vehicle and the rickshaw. He collapsed on the way to this hotel room around 12.58pm on Saturday.
The accident led to the altercation between the Rickshaw driver Mujahid Sanadi aged 25 and Lavoo. During the altercation the rickshaw driver slapped Lavoo Mamledar.
The CCTV footage of Srinivas Lodge, Belgaum shows Lavoo Mamledar climbing the stairs of the lodge. Then he starts coughing. When he is about to take the second flight of stairs he stutters and catches the wall and then sudden collapses.
Belgaum Police have confirmed that Mamledar collapsed after being slapped by the accused. He was rushed to the nearby hospital, but declared dead. His relatives in Goa have been intimated.
The rickshaw driver has been detained and is being questioned.
