PERNEM: The Pernem Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) on Saturday remanded the murder accused Deepan Rajeev Batra from Delhi to 14 days judicial custody.
Batra (23) was again remanded in judicial custody after completion of four days police custody sought by the Mandrem police.
Batra was arrested on the charge of killing Mary alias Maria Fernandes at Junawada, Mandrem after he drove his car in a reckless manner and deliberately knocked her down on February 20.
Batra allegedly took revenge as there used to fight between the accused and the deceased over the fight between the dogs owned by them.
The Court had earlier remanded in judicial custody but the police later sought his four days police custody.
On February 24, the villagers had protested over the alleged “VIP treatment” given to the accused by police.
