PANJIM: The flying squad from Mapusa on Wednesday inspected hill cutting at Paitona in Salvador do Mundo.
Following complaints by the villagers against massive hill cutting, the flying squad along with officials of the Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department, Salvador do Mundo Village Panchayat members and the Talathi visited the site and conducted a site inspection.
The villagers had complained that there was massive hill cutting in Paitona, Salvador do Mundo panchayat jurisdiction and that the property owner was not allowing them and the panchayat members to take photographs of the site.
The villagers said that the hill cutting was going on for the construction of proposed residential villas, swimming pools and a compound wall in an area admeasuring over 9,000 square metres.
