Dudu operated from rented house for 12 yrs: chargesheet

The Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) which investigated drugs seizure from Israeli drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu, filed a chargesheet at Narcotics and Drugs Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Court on Monday.
Dudu (34) was caught red-handed with cocktail of narcotics worth Rs 3.81-lakh near his house at Anjuna in February 2010.
The voluminous chargesheet mentions that the drug dealer resided at a rented house from where he operated narcotics trade in Goa for the last 12 years. The State has recorded statements of around 15 witnesses.
Dudu was arrested with 144 ecstasy tablets weighing 55 gram worth Rs 1.10 lakh, heroine powder weighing five grams worth Rs 15,000, 6.5 grams cocaine worth Rs 30,000, 7.30 grams liquid LSD worth Rs 1.10 lakh and 1.165 grams Charas worth Rs 1,15,500.
Police had also attached Rs 5,000 in cash and a Santro car GA-02-S-6492 from the raid. The car is however released to its real owner who is a local man.
Reliable sources told Herald that the chargesheet was already complete but they were waiting for the forensic examination of the drugs seized from Dudu.
“The report for charas came out to be positive from the Goa laboratory. While the report of other drug samples which were sent to Central Forensic Science Laboratory at Hyderabad was received only couple of days ago. The later report also confirms positive for narcotics,” said the source.
Dudu who is presently lodged in Sada sub-jail did not own any movable or immovable property in Goa. His bank account in a nationalised bank was frozen though there were no transactions made.
“We have however sealed his account with a foreign money exchange dealer from where he regular withdrew foreign currency,” he said.
Dudu had been using a company as a front and had set up the business along with a couple of locals. The company was registered as ‘Dudu Division Import Export Private Ltd’ at Anjuna.
The drug dealer was arrested in 2008 by Mumbai’s ANC and was earlier served a ‘Leave India’ notice in 2006.
