PONDA: Suggesting that a lack of spiritual base had led people to become corrupt and anti-religious, Dr Charudatta Pingale, National Guide of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) on Thursday claimed that some BJP leaders could not resolve this issue.
Dr Pingale was speaking during the five-day 2nd National Hindu Convention that got underway at Ramnathi-Ponda on Thursday.
“Everyone knows what has happened in Karnataka (referring to former BJP and ex-Karnataka chief minister B S Yedurappa’s alleged involvement in illegal mining) and with Nitin Gadkari (former BJP national president who was hit by allegations of dubious funding of his companies) and so on,” added Dr Pingale.
“BJP leaders could not solve this issue. With lack of spiritual base, people tend to become corrupt and anti-religious,” he said.
According to the organisers, about 250 delegates from 22 states and some foreign countries are participating in the second five-day All India Hindu Convention, which was inaugurated at Ramnathi Temple, Ramnathi-Ponda, to decide on the common action programme on the alleged atrocities on Hindus and for the establishment of the Hindu nation.
The programme is jointly organised by Hindu Janajagruti Samiti and Pedne Navnirman Samiti.
“We should not expect support from any political parties to our efforts to establish a Hindu nation. There will be many hurdles in our way, but with the blessing of the Almighty, we can achieve the desired results,” added Dr Pingale.
Swami Pradnyanand Saraswati, National Convenor, All India Ramarajya Parishad and Peetamber Yogapithadhishwar, Kanpur, claimed that majority of the parliamentarians are Hindus and no one is talking on the issue of establishing a Hindu nation.
“Eighty per cent of the parliamentarians are Hindus, but sadly all are mum on the issue. We have to decide who should be elected to the Parliament, as help of the elected representatives is of utmost importance in establishing the Hindu nation and not to forget the work that has to be done at the grass-root level,” said Swami Pradnyanand Saraswati.
