Toppers more interested in IIT-JEEs

PANJIM: Most of the toppers of the Goa Common Entrance Test making it to the top five merit lists of either engineering and pharmacy are trying their hand at the All India examinations of the IIT including the JEE (Main) as well as the JEE Advanced and the BITSAT which secure admission into IITs and the BITS Pilani campuses.

PANJIM: Most of the toppers of the Goa Common Entrance Test making it to the top five merit lists of either engineering and pharmacy are trying their hand at the All India examinations of the IIT including the JEE (Main) as well as the JEE Advanced and the BITSAT which secure admission into IITs and the BITS Pilani campuses.
Speaking to Herald, Sashwat Salgaocar who topped in Physics as well as emerged at the Top of the Engineering merit list as well as the Pharmacy merit list with a cumulative physics and maths score of 138 said he has his eyes set on the upcoming JEE Advanced as well as the BITSAT exams and hopes to get into one of the IITs.
“I can rest only once I have completed these exams,” Shashwat told Herald adding that he hoped to be a Mechanical Engineer, but added that he was keeping his options open.
Shivam Goel who topped in the Pharmacy merit list as well as the Chemistry subject said that he hoped to become a doctor. “I wish to pursue medicine as my career, so I focused more on Physics, Chemistry and Biology. I was determined to do well and make my parents proud,” he said adding that he was now awaiting his NEET marks.
Neha George who made it to the Engineering and Pharmacy top five interestingly said that she would like to be a teacher after her degree. Aravind Kumar who also made it to the top five of the Engineering list said he hoped to be a computer engineer and was also trying for the IITs.
Speaking to Herald, Vyankatesh Dessai said he was proud that the top students of the Mushtifund Aryan Higher Secondary made it to the top of the list.
“Our students are aiming for the JEEs. It is no surprise that they emerged at the top of the GCET. In fact I have to force some of them to answer the GCET for the record,” Prabhudessai of Mushtifund Aryan told Herald.
