Namo, Mano storm Narayan Rane bastion on last day of campaign

PANJIM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing Congress and National Congress Party of being "steeped" in corruption, asked the voters to "banish" the two parties from the State. The Modi rally at which Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar also spoke, saw the prime minister saying that for the first time in 30 years there was a government at the Centre with an absolute majority and asked the electorate to give the BJP a clear majority in Maharashtra for good governance.

The prime minister wound up his campaign in the State with a rally at Kankavli in the Konkan region, a traditional stronghold of Congress' election campaign committee chief Narayan Rane.

Rane, is contesting from Kudal, while his son Nitesh is Congress candidate for Kankavli.

Modi also accused the Congress-NCP of neglecting the region and vowed to boost its economic development if BJP is voted to power in the State.

Promising to fulfill the expectations of people in Maharashtra, if BJP is given a full majority in the October 15 Assembly elections, Modi said his government is committed to good governance.
