MAPUSA: A school girl had a narrow escape when a huge mango tree collapsed and fell on a house near the Primary Health Centre at Marna-Siolim after heavy rains and gusty winds wreaked havoc in the area.
The incident happened on Monday at around 5.30 in the evening when gusty winds and heavy rains brought down the huge tree.
Sources reveal that there were four students who had come to the house for tuitions but one girl suffered minor injury when a roof tile fell on her head. She was rushed to hospital but discharged after first aid.
The three children and the inmates however escaped unhurt. The house owned by Sarita Chari was partially damaged. The Mapusa brigade later cleared the tree.
