
MARGAO: Konkani Bhasha Mandal (KBM), Goa, will host a ‘Bhas-Samvad’ programme from this year onwards, on ‘International Mother Language Day’, featuring a special dialogue between youth and academics with renowned writers.
This year, the event will be attended by Jnanpith award winner, renowned Indian writer Damodar Mauzo and Saraswati Samman Award winning writer Mahabaleshwar Sail. The event will be held on February 21 at 9.30 am at the Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao,on, informed Anwesha Sigbal, President, KBM.
She informed that the event would give attendees the opportunity to ask questions to these renowned writers.
The event will be attended by students from several colleges and universities in Goa. Teachers from various schools across Goa will also be present at the event.
The Mandal’s academic awards and scholarships will be presented at the function. Lakenzia Fernandes, who secured the highest marks in Konkani subject in this year’s Class 10 examination at the State level, Drishti Vinod Gaonkar, Nidhi Kapil Pai Vaidya, Bhumi Rajendra Gosavi, Daryl Philip Luke D'Souza, Palia Dattaprasad Sinai Agni, Shreya Paresh Bhat who secured the highest marks in 10th standard in South Goa, Diya Gautam Savardekar, Neha Sanjeev Sinai Bhangi, Ravina Arjun Velip, Sharva Chodankar who secured the highest marks in Konkani in the Class 12 examination, Adrea Savia Baptista, who secured the highest marks in Konkani at the BA examination and Kajal Mahesh Naikwho secured the highest marks in Konkani in the MA examination will be felicitated on the occasion.
