PANJIM: Prof Seshu Pasumarthy has been appointed as the new director of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Goa.
He is currently the IIT Director of Dharwad.
President of India Droupadi Murmu in her capacity as the visitor of IITs has approved the appointment of directors of eight IITs including Goa, Dharwad, Tirupati, Palakkad, Bhilai, Gandhinagar, Bhubaneshwar and Jammu.
Pasumarthy has replaced Prof B K Mishra, who has been Goa IIT chief since March 2017.
Prof Pasumarthy holds a B Tech degree from NIT, Warangal (1984), M Tech from IIT Madras (1986) and PhD, also from IIT Madras (1989). Prof Pasumarthy’s areas of interest are finite element modelling and computational solid mechanics.
