PONDA: A social activist has complained to the Curti Khandepar Panchayat, demanding action against a person for encroaching on the crematorium land owned by the Panchayat at Deep Nagar, Curti.
Providing photographic evidence of the encroachment, social activist Sandeep Parkar has filed a complaint to the panchayat stating that a migrant has started constructing a house on the crematorium land.
According to Parkar, the illegal construction work has been going on at Deepnagar Curti- Khandepar for the past few days.
In his complaint, he called upon the panchayat to conduct a site inspection and issue a stop order notice at the earliest. It is pertinent to note that the panchayat had previously acquired land for various communities for final rites, and is in the process of demarcating the land.
Sarpanch Harish Naik confirmed receiving the complaint and assured that action would be taken according to the law after conducting inspecting the site.
