Goa University Files Police Complaint Against Dr. Pranav Naik Over Alleged Paper Leak
PANJIM: The Goa University has filed a police complaint against Dr Pranav Naik, Assistant Professor of Physics, before the Police Inspector, Agassaim police station, on Friday. The purpose is to investigate further, what the Goa University called unauthorized unlawful activities carried out by him.
Activist Kashinath Shetye and others had filed a police complaint at the Agassaim Police Station on March 16, 2025. This was followed by filing of police complaint by the National Students Union of India and Youth Congress at the Agassaim police station.
Thereafter due to pressure from the public and the student community, Dr Pranav Naik was suspended on March 17. A fact finding committee was also constituted. On March 19 the fact finding committee submitted its report to the Executive Council. It was decided that the Executive Councill will meet on March 28 to discuss the report.
The State government has also constituted a four member high level inquiry committee headed by Retired Justice RMS Khandeparkar on Thursday March 20. Bosco George, Former DIG, Goa, Dr Radhika Nayak, Former Registrar Goa University and Prof MRK Prasad, VM Salgaoncar College of law are the other members. They have been directed to submit the report at the earliest, according to the State Government order.
