MARGAO: Former Member of Parliament in Portugal Maria de Lurdes Filomena Figueiredo de Albuquerque passed away on Saturday.
The grand old lady of Loutolim was the custodian of her magnificent baronial residence Figueiredo Mansion and one of the last remaining linkages between Estado da Índia Portuguesa and the Goa of today.
The death of a hospitality and cultural ambassador, who hosted tourists and dignitaries from across the world in her vintage heritage mansion in Loutolim, the pride of Goa, is yet another end of a magnificent era.
