
PANJIM: Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate on Wednesday reviewed departmental preparedness to switch over to e-stamp regime, which will be executed in the State through Government of India’s Stockholding Company.
Monserrate held meeting with the department officials to deliberate over implementation of Goa E-Stamping Rules 2022, which were framed in May, last year. The rules were formulated to regulate the issuance of e-stamp certificates and to pave the way for online stamp duty collection mechanism.
Speaking to media persons post meeting, Monserrate said that the e-stamping process will bring in more transparency and will be available for the end user 24x7. He said that all the local stamp vendors will be taken into confidence and would be made part of the new e-system.
