Property will: Pernem police book accused for forgery

PANJIM: The Pernem Police have registered an FIR against a person for preparing a forged will in respect of property at Dhargalim, purportedly executed by father of the complainant before Civil Registrar-cum-Sub-Registrar, Valpoi, in favour of accused person, who later produced the same before Pernem Mamlatdar and carried out the mutation process.

The police have registered the case as per the directions of the Pernem Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC).

Sangeeta Korgaonkar and her husband Gajanan Korgaonkar, residing at Mauswada, Pernem, in their complaint stated that the accused Subhash Kanulkar of Kapniwada, Dhargalim prepared forged will dated January 1, 2001 in respect of property in survey No. 350/0 and 340/0 situated at Dhargalim village, Pernem, purportedly executed by father of the complainant i.e. late Shantaram Bablo Kanulkar before the Civil Registrar-cum-Sub-Registrar, Valpoi, Sattari in favour of accused person. 

Further the accused used the said prepared forged Will as genuine and produced the same before the Pernem Mamlatdar and carried out the mutation process wherein the name of the complainant’s father late Shantaram Bablo Kanulkar was deleted from Form I & XIV and name of the accused Subhash Kanulkar was added in Form I & XIV and claimed the right over the said properties thereby cheated the complainant.

The Pernem police said that the will was executed three months after the death of the complainant’s father late Shantaram Bablo Kanulkar. The will dated January 1, 2001 was produced before the Pernem Mamlatdar in June 2013.
