Rs 81 cr approved under PM Kudra Yojana: Shripad

PANJIM: Union Minister of State for AYUSH, Shripad Naik, on Monday said that Rs 81.69 crore was approved to 7319 beneficiaries in Goa under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana.
“Government of India has taken various steps to generate employment opportunities for the people in the country. Mudra Yojana and Start up India are two schemes implemented for the purpose,” Naik said addressing the gathering at the Mudra Promotion Camp at Panjim.
“In Goa, banks have sanctioned around 41 beneficiaries in the scheme out of which 40 are women,” he said and added that 9.13 crore persons have benefited with a total of Rs 3.96 lakh crore, out of which 6.89 crore are women.
“Government intends to promote digital payment method to encourage consumers and merchants to facilitate payment mode for which the department of Financial Services Government of India, has decided to organise Mudra promotion camps,” Naik added.
He appealed to the people to avail benefits of the scheme which will generate sufficient income to live a better life.
