PONDA: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude launched two schemes -- Deposit Protection Scheme for investors depositing money in co-operative credit societies and tribal welfare scheme ‘Eklavya Prashikshan Yojana’ to provide coaching to the ST students of Class X, XI and XII on occasion of Goa Statehood Day. The schemes will be implemented from this year.

The function was held at Rajiv Ghandi Kala Mandir, Ponda in the presence PMC chief Shantaram Colvekar.

Under Deposit Protection Scheme, Govind Gaude said, “The main objective of scheme is to protect interest of depositors during any instance of the co-operative credit society undergoing into liquidation/ amalgamation.”

On Eklavya Prashikshan Yojna, Minister said, “The tribal students (ST) will be entitled to get coaching in Class X, XI and XII where in students shall bear 25 % fees while Tribal Welfare Department will bear 75 %.”
