PONDA: The service road built along the new Khandepar bridge was finally opened for the heavy traffic on Wednesday. Motorists have heaved a sigh of relief as this will minimise the mishaps which often takes place on this dangerous junction.
Since the connecting road was not built even after erecting a new bridge at Khandepar, the vehicles travelling from Ponda to Usgao were opting for the junction road. From Wednesday morning onwards, all the vehicles travelling from Ponda to Usgao were allowed to use the service road.
Locals have claimed that this will resolve the question of students' safety to some extent.
