PANJIM: South Goa Collector Ajit Roy will take over the charge of North District, following transfer of North Collector R Menaka to New Delhi. The reallocation of the portfolio is a part of bureaucratic shuffle by the State government, on Friday. 

Ruchika Katyal, 2013 batch Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT) Cadre IAS officer, who had been awaiting posting is South Goa’s new Collector. 

In a separate notification allotting departments among three other IAS officers Tariq Thomas -- currently holding the position as Secretary (Urban Development) is also Secretary Transport, Science and Technology, Factories and Boilers; CEO Entertainment Society of Goa and Nodal Officer of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) (Urban) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) (Urban). 

Similarly, Secretary (General Administration) Ravi Dhawan is also new Health Secretary in the wake of transfer to present Amit Satija to Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu. 

Additional departments for Dhawan include Civil Supplies, Goa Gazetteer, Printing and Stationary, Museum and Protocol besides being the MD and CEO of Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited. 

With appointment of Social Welfare Secretary S K Bhandari as Resident Commissioner of Goa Sadan, New Delhi; the yet another order states that Dhawan will hold the charge of Bhandari in addition to his own duties. 

Another officer Mekala Chaitanya Prasad is the Special Secretary (Home Vigilance Personnel) and Director of Youth Affairs. 

Meanwhile, Inspector General of Prisons Gurudas Pilarnkar is transferred to Urban Development while Additional IGP Ashutosh Apte, who is currently holding additional charge of Superintendent of Jails will also hold the charge of IGP till further orders.
