State carries out major bureaucratic reshuffle

PANJIM: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, State government on Tuesday transferred 37 civil service officers ‘in public interest’ with immediate effect.

The order issued by Under Secretary (Personnel II) Shashank Thakur has mentioned that Goa Governor has ordered the transfers and postings of the officers in public interest.

Another shocking development was removal of Nikhil Desai from the post of Director of Transport. His removal is as a result of series of complaints from tourist taxi operators of harassment and corruption. Dessai, who continues to be Managing Director of Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC), is now been replaced by Rajan Satardekar as Director Transport.

The major reshuffle includes transfer of Additional Secretary to Chief Minister and Finance Michael D’Souza, who is now posted as Additional Secretary to Housing. D’Souza had been holding both the positions since 2012 after then Chief Minister (late) Manohar Parrikar elevated him as part of his core team.

n Additional Secretary Health Sunil Masurkar is now transferred as Additional Secretary Finance.

n Gopal Parsekar, Additional Collector II North, has replaced Satardekar as Director Panchayat.

n Government has appointed Ashutosh Apte as the new Director to the Directorate of Mines and Geology. The department was without a full-time chief for nearly six months after its then Director Prasanna Acharya was shunted out.

n IAS officer Ameya Abhyankar was given additional charge of the department in February, this year. He is now been relieved from the post.

n Acharya, who was awaiting posting since February, is now posted as Additional Collector to South Goa District.

n The Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) has got new Managing Director Johnson Fernandes. He has replaced Derrick Neto, who is now transferred as Joint Secretary ARD and Managing Director GHRSSIDC.

n Ajit Pawaskar is appointed as Joint Secretary Health and Gourish Kurtikar as Joint Secretary of Goa Administrative Department (GAD).

n Sarita Marathe is appointed as Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes I and Prashant Shirodkar as Additional Commissioner of Excise.

n Sagun Velip is appointed as Member Secretary of Ravindra Bhavan, Margao, Sheru Shirodkar is Member Secretary of Sanjay School for Special Education, Vashudev Shetye is appointed as custodian of Evacuee Property and Arvind Bugde as Director Handicraft.

n Agnelo Fernandes is transferred as CEO South Goa Zilla Panchayat, Dashrath Redkar is Additional Collector II North Goa, Arvind Khutkar is Additional Collector III South (Ponda), Gourish Shankhawalkar is CEO Mormugao Municipal Council and Mahadev Araundekar is Additional Collector (III) North Goa.

n Parag Nagarsekar is appointed as Director Social Welfare, Gopal Parsekar Director Panchayat, Raju Gawas Director (Admin) Electricity Department, Narayan Gad as Director of Land Records and Settlement, Meghana Shetgaonkar Director of Information and Publicity, Pipi Murgaonkar Director (Admin) Sports Authority of Goa (SAG), Maria D’Souza is director (admin) Health Services and Varsha Naik is Director (Admin) Education.
