PANJIM: The 18th Exposition of the Holy Relics of St Francis Xavier Opens at Old Goa. The Saint who is lovingly called Goencho Saib or protector of Goa, is a rallying point for all faiths. Herald TV asked people if the decennial Exposition and the feast of St Francis Xavier is a potent exemplification of Goa’s enduring inter religious harmony.

People of all faiths and all walks of life are very enthusiastic. This is an occasion where people of all faiths especially from South India and even other countries will be converging to venerate this great saint

The great occasion of having the Exposition of the great Saint Francis Xavier after 10 years is clearly seen and visible, how this function is an example of enduring religious harmony. People of all faiths and all walks of life are very enthusiastic. This is an occasion where people of all faiths especially from South India and even other countries will be converging to venerate this great saint, attributing great miracles to this saint, in their lives. Two of my friends from South India who visited me told me that there are banners put everywhere in Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu and Kerala heralding the Exposition of St Francis Xavier in Old Goa.

All communities such as Hindus, Christians, Muslims or even Sikhs unite.  We thanks St Francis Xavier since this is a symbol of Goa’s unity

The Exposition of the holy relics of St Francis Xavier is an opportunity for all – Goans and those who come from outside to come together and venerate him. All communities such as Hindus, Christians, Muslims or even Sikhs unite.  We thanks St Francis Xavier since this is a symbol of Goa’s unity. He has protected Goa for centuries. All cyclones, Tsunamis or earthquakes which scientist had predicted did not touch Goa and we were saved. Goa is a diamond of unity in the entire country. The entire world and even the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has accepted that St Francis Xavier is Goencho Saib. He therefore is a source of unity of all Goans.

We lovingly call him Goencho Saib. He protects and unites us. Without any caste or religious considerations,

The 18th Exposition of St Francis Xavier is a big opportunity for Goans to participate. If we are alive today, it is because of him. There were lot of dark clouds which hovered over Goa, there were lot of storms, there were lots of diseases, but we were able to tide over all this due to his help. We lovingly call him Goencho Saib. He protects and unites us. Without any caste or religious considerations, Goan, Indian and people from the World over, venerate him. Because he is the protector of Goa.
