OLD GOA: ICAR Research Complex for Goa, Ela, Old Goa, Director Dr Narendra Pratap Singh has appealed the farmers to adopt scientific practices to increase their crop yields. He was speaking during the inaugural function of Progressive Farmers Club of Neura-Mandur, motivated by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, ICAR Research Complex for Goa, organised at Neura Panchayat hall. Dr Singh also stressed on the need for soil testing for better use of balance fertilizer. B K Arsekar, Deputy Zonal Manager, said farmers should take benefit of crop loan of bank to buy critical inputs like seed and fertilizers, while Geeta Pansare, Assistant General Manager, NABARD, expressed happiness over the formation of farmers club. Shriram Dhaimodkar, Zonal Agricultural Officer, explained about the schemes. Vishram Gaonkar, Programme Coordinator, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Raju Naik, social worker, Taleigao, Anita Karmalkar, AIMS, Porvorim, Sunita Naik, Deputy Sarpanch, neural village and Jasinta D’Souza, Manager, Bank of India, Neura branch were present on the occasion.
