PANJIM: After all the noise that was created about Kala Academy renovation, what is the exact status? The Task force which was appointed by the Chief Minister has said that nothing of what they had recommended has been done. The Kala Academy is as it is. They are clearly not happy with the non implementation of their suggestions.
Now they want to meet Chief Minister Pramod Sawant regarding the construction, lights and sound changes suggested by them. They also want to rope in IIT Chennai for Structural Audit.
Task Force Chairman, Vijay Kenkre said that on Saturday they discussed the report of the Expert Committee and worked out the exact costing. He expressed unhappiness over the fact that none of the construction changes, sound and light changes which were suggested by them had been executed.
The Task Force said they want to talk to the Experts and the Consultants and they want the local theatre groups to perform and given them their feedback. Vijay Kenkre also said that nothing is spoken about the collapsed ceiling of the open air auditorium. That too is part of Kala Academy he pointed out.
