MAPUSA: The teacher who was accused of assaulting a Class X student at a Mapusa school, appeared before Mapusa Police on Thursday. She was called for questioning by the police.
The Class X student was assaulted after he asked the teacher for drinking water. In a fit of rage the accused teacher Shama Borker allegedly assaulted the student with a metal ruler. She got angry since the student had not carried his own water bottle.
Mother of the student filed a police complaint at Mapusa Police Station on 28th January 2025.The students is 16 years old. The mother has stated that the teacher pinched her son and slapped him causing bodily harm.
Further investigation is in progress under Inquiry Officer PSI Pandhari Chopdekar of Mapusa Police Station
Mapusa Police registered the case under Section 118 (1) of BNS of 2023 and Section 8 of the Goa Children's Act.
