MARGAO: Senior Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader and Rajya Sabha MP, Derek O'Brien on Tuesday stated that his party is in Goa to form the next government, besides TMC will be contesting both Lok Sabha seats as well.

"TMC is here to form the government in Goa. We are not here to just win two or three seats. We will be contesting both the Lok Sabha seats as well. We are here for the long run," said O'Brien, inducting former president of United Goans Democratic Party (UGDP) Jorson Fernandes into the TCM. He claimed that his party is not interested in having an alliance with the people who change colours

Upon induction of another credible grassroots leader into the party, he further said one of the prerequisites to be a member of Goa TMC is to have a clean image.

"We need more people like Dr. Fernandes who don’t have any allegations of wrong-doing against them. These are the kind of people who will help reform and rebuild Goa", stated Derek.

According to him Congress is not capable of giving good governance to the people of Goa.

Taking a dig at the recent statement made by former Governor of Goa Satya Pal Malik, he said a person who was appointed by BJP, holding a constitutional post in Meghalaya and making a statement of corruption involving Goa government is unbelievable.
