
MARGAO: Due to incessant rains, a landslide occurred between Castle Rock - Caranzol Railway stations on Braganza Ghat railway route section of Hubli division on Tuesday night, which led to the cancellation, diversion and rescheduling of several trains to and from Goa since then.
According to South Western Railway (SWR) officials, immediately after the landslide was reported, teams were rushed to the spot to clear the railway track.
On Wednesday morning, the Yesvantpur Vasco da Gama Express and Vasco da Gama Yesvantpur Express were cancelled while the Goa Express was diverted via Konkan Railway route.
On Wednesday night, SWR further announced that the railway route was not cleared and so another train was postponed, namely the Magra (West Bengal) to Margao train that was scheduled to depart on Wednesday evening at 11.30 pm was postponed to Thursday 11.30 pm.
Furthermore, on Tuesday night, 23 buses were arranged by SWR at Sri Siddharoodh Swamy Railway Station in Hubli and Belagaum station for passengers of Yesvantpur-Vasco da Gama Express.
