Two die, three injured in self accident at Partagal

CANACONA: A Karnataka registered Skoda Fabia car hit a road side tree between Partagal and Paiginim in Canacona resulting in death of two of the five occupants travelling in the ill fated car. The incident occurred at around 12 midnight on Saturday.

The car was proceeding from Goa towards Mangalore when the driver lost control of the vehicles and rammed in to a tree at the shoulder of the national highway 17 at Partagal here in Canacona.

The impact was such that the front of the car got totally damaged. The driver Shivanand Kamat hailing from Mangalore who escaped with minor injuries is booked for rash, negligent driving under Sections 279, 337,338 and 304A of IPC,

All injured where immediately rushed to Canacona health centre from where they were referred to Hospicio hospital, where Santosh Nayak and Charan Poi succumbed to their injuries.

Dikxit Saliyan and Pravin Anchan the other occupants of the ill fated car were referred to a private hospital in Margao for further treatment. The case is being probed by IO PSI Remedios D’Souza under supervision of PI Filomeno Costa of Canacona police station.
