Two minors among 4 Rajasthani natives involved in jewellery theft in Mapusa, nabbed at Sindhudurg

The other two accused are 18 years and 26 years old stole silver and gold jewellery worth crores of rupees.

LEAD/ANCHOR: Two minors were among the four Rajasthani natives arrested by the Mapusa Police for theft of jewellery worth crores of rupees at Nasnodkar Jewellers in the Municipal market on September 23. Mapusa Police recovered 12 kgs silver and 1 kg gold from the accused. The quartet was picked up from Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, as they were proceeding to Ajmer via Netravati Express.

Two of them are minors. The other two accused are 26-year-old Harji Chauvhan and 18-year-old Bhavani Singh from Ajmer, Rajasthan.

The thieves entered through the ventilator. While three of them entered the shop, the fourth kept watch outside

CCTV footage was analysed and a search was launched to nab the suspects. Police were unable to recognise the accused as they had covered their faces then.

Two of the accused who were moving in a suspicious manner condition at night were photographed by police on night patrol before the robbery. The CCTV trail led the police to Tivim Railway Station.
