
PANJIM: In a massive shock for the AAP in the Delhi Assembly polls, party chief and former CM Arvind Kejriwal faced a massive defeat at the hands of the BJP's Parvesh Verma. Verma defeated Kejriwal by a margin of around 3,000 votes. Former Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia lost from his Jangpura seat to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marwah. At the time of writing the BJP had 48 seats, the AAP had 22 seats and Congress had zero seats.

Delhi witnessed a three-cornered contest between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress. Bharatiya Janata Party Parvesh Sahib Singh got 30,088 AND Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal got 25,999
AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal released a video message on X (formerly Twitter), conceding defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, saying that he and his party graciously accept people's decision. He said he would play the role of a constructive opposition.
The other leaders who lost are Former Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Saurabh Bhardwaj, Rakhi Birla and Avadh Ojha among others. The only bright spot was outgoing chief Minister Atishi won from Kalkaji
The Congress, which ruled the national capital for 15 years until 2013, drew a blank for the third time, although it made an all-out effort to regain its foothold in the 70-member Delhi assembly polls held earlier this week.
