Dhavalikar to raise INR 4,500 crore green cess issue with finance minister

Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar informed the Assembly that he would take up the issue of ₹4,500 crore in green cess dues with the Finance Minister, noting that the cess falls under the purview of the Finance Department.

He highlighted a 6% annual increase in the state’s power demand, with peak consumption expected to touch 815 MW by 2025–26. To support this growth, 8,039 km of underground cabling has been completed as part of infrastructure upgrades.

On the matter of pending electric vehicle subsidies, Dhavalikar assured the House that the department is actively working to clear the backlog.

Regarding renewable energy, he stated that ₹15.07 crore has been disbursed for rooftop solar panels, with 2,157 connections generating a total of 72.5 million units of electricity.
