PANJIM: From a mason to a notorious land broker, Siddiqui alias Suleiman Khan, 55, who has 15 cases across Goa, Hyderabad, Pune, and Delhi, and who was first arrested in November 12, 2024, after being on the run for four years, shot into the news with his dramatic escape from crime branch custody. He released a sensational video accusing the SP Crime Branch, PI and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza. However, people feel that suddenly the investigations in the case have been put in cold storage.
Siddiqui alias Suleiman Khan made a dramatic escape from Crime Branch Custody on 13th December 2024, at 2.30am
The footage was vividly caught on CCTV camera, where Constable Amit Naik was seen assisting him to escape on his bike.
Suleiman was ferried to Hubbali, and he himself confessed that he ditched Amit Naik and did not pay him the promised amount.
Thereafter Suleiman the notorious land broker released a sensational video through AAP State President Amit Palekar which was circulated by Congress Vice President Sunil Kawthankar
In the video, Suleiman alleged that SP Rahul Gupta, DySP Suraj Alankar, some PSIs and two constables of SIT and two constables of IRB beat him severely on his legs before MLA Joshua D’Souza.
“They are using be for 3 months, under various scams,” he alleged. Even though everything was ok, two months ago my house was demolished, he alleged.
Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza said that his father Francis Dsouza had purchased property in Suleiman’s name and he was forcing him to transfer property on a person of Joshua’s choice, Suleiman alleged.
Suleiman also alleged that he did not escape but was escorted by a team of Crime Branch and was threatened with encounter if he revealed anything.
After being on the run for 10 days Suleiman’s arrested was announced by the CM on 23rd December 2024, saying he was arrested two days ago in Kerala.
Simultaneously, Suleiman Khan released a second video, whose source was not known, but it was presumed that this was released while he was in custody.
In the Second Video Suleiman alleged that he was told to make the first video by AAP State President Amit Palekar.
After his arrest, Suleiman has been remanded to judicial custody. But many questions remain:
1. Where is the investigation heading to?
2. What is the progress of the case?
3. How many have been examined in the case?
4. Will SP Crime Branch Rahul Gupta still handle the case after allegations against him?
5. Will SP Rahul Gupta, PI and Joshua D’Souza be called for questioning since they have been named in the first video by Suleiman?
6. Why are only those named in the second video being questioned?
7. Will a forensic investigation be done on who released the second video and when it was released?
