PANJIM: Environmentalist Claude Alvares has said that they would approach the courts and take the matter right up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi till TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane is sacked. He was speaking after the protestors demanding the sacking of TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane, were not allowed to go to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant’s official residence at Altinho, and were made to wait for one hour near the Panjim Church, on the road leading to Altinho.
Thereafter they three of them including Claude Alvares, Swapnesh Sherlekar and one more person was allowed to go to the residence of the CM. They were told to sit, offered a glass of water and then told that that CM was not at the residence.
“I think that it is a very sorry state. My impression of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has fallen by 40 to 50%. I respect him because he is a doctor. But what is the nature of the communication between the bungalow upstairs and the people here and the police and the mamlatdar.” Claude Alvares said after the incident.
“They are unable to tell the people here that the chief minister is not in the bungalow. Then why have you blocked the road and not allowed us to go up? We have submitted the letter to the staff and we will get the acknowledgment tomorrow,” he said.
Swapnesh Sherlekar said, “The joke is on us. The joke is not only on the three of us or the people gathered here. The joke is on all Goans. They are basically making a fool of Goans. The signature campaign for the ouster of Vishwajit will continue online. The forest minister is working against the forests. The planning minister is planning for Delhiites and working against Goans.”
“He has time to meet Bhutani by going for the function. But he has not time to meet Goans, Swapnesh lamented.
