Three terrorists were killed on Tuesday morning in an anti-terror operation after they opened fired on an Army convoy that was traveling through a village close to the Line of Control (LoC) in the Akhnoor sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

It followed a new gunfight that broke out in a village in the Jammu region's Akhnoor sector on Tuesday morning as security forces pushed for a last-ditch attack against a militant group that was thought to be comprised of three, and had taken up residence there.
In an operation led by the special forces and NSG commandos, one of the three terrorists who opened fire on an army ambulance that was a part of a convoy traveling close to the Line of Control (LoC) on Monday morning was killed by the evening.

Additionally, the terrorists defaced idols at the nearby Hassan temple, which prompted the Indian Army to enclose the area and begin a search for the culprits.
Helicopters and drones were also used to find the terrorists who were hiding, and the Army used its four BMP-II infantry combat vehicles for the first time to strengthen the cordon and conduct surveillance around the attack site.

During the operation, Phantom, a courageous Army dog who was four years old, was shot and died. According to officials, Phantom was fatally wounded when he came under enemy fire as the security forces were encircling the terrorists who were trapped.
