In a shocking incident that took place at the Curti Khandepar village panchayat on Monday, a local assaulted a panch and the sarpanch over the issue of a no-objection certificate (NOC) to repair a cowshed.
As the NOC was not approved by the panchayat, the accused Gopinath Naik got into an argument and in a fit of rage, hit the panch Babu Chari and manhandled the Sarpanch Naveed Thahashildar, demanding the NOC. The sarpanch and the panch filed a complaint with the Ponda police, who detained the accused Gopinath Naik, a resident of Nagzar Curti.
