Family of Felix Dahl to challenge closure report filed by the CBI

The family of Felix Dahl, who was found dead in Patnem in January 2015, has decided to oppose the closure report filed by the CBI in connection with his murder. The CBI filed the report after an investigation spanning nearly five years.

Dahl, 22, a dual Swedish and Finnish citizen, had come to Goa for a holiday in October 2014 and was last seen at a restaurant that was 200 meters away from the site where his body was found. Canacona police had registered an offence under Section 174 of the CrPC.

In October 2014, Felix Dahl came to India for the purpose of taking a transit visit and going on his way to Bangkok for further studies. In January 2015, his body was found near Patnem at Canacona, 200 meters away from the restaurant where he was last seen. The family of Felix Dahl provided information to the Goa Police during the investigation in March 2015. Further, in 2018, Bombay HC transferred the case to the CBI for further investigation after the family denounced the investigation by Goa police, claiming that Dahl died due to an accidental fall. Conclusively, in 2023, the CBI filed a closure report for the case.

However, the family of Felix Dahl said that they will be challenging the closure report filed by the CBI, claiming that the CBI investigation was one big farce as it was just done to show that 'something was being done’.
