The Mahaganapati Devasthan Khandola temple committee explained the Rs 6 lakh theft at the temple which occurred on Thursday early morning. Gold plated crown, other gold plated and silver objects and cash amounting to Rs 6 lakh were stolen from the temple premises, according to temple authorities. Thieves threw some cash on the temple premises and ran away.
However, the Jai Damodar Association now blames the temple Secretary for the Mahaganapati Devasthan Khandola temple theft. The Association President said that adequate security was not ensured for the temple and questioned if the gold was insured. He also lashed out at Mamlatdar and the management of Goan temples.
