Looks like the Reis Magos fort, a well-known heritage site, is in danger as a massive hill cutting is going on just above the fort which has resulted in a big concern and a matter of discussion among the locals, activists and environmentalists. Today Team Herald visited the site and spoke to the people about this matter.
Sanjay Barde, a social activist, said that every Goan would like Goa to improve and develop. But in the same regard, the natural beauty should not be disturbed, and the Reis Magos hill cutting is staining the scenic view from Panjim while also posing a danger to the Reis Magos fort. Local MLA Kedar Naik stated that permissions for this have come from the Central Government while neither himself, the Goa Government nor the Panchayat is involved in this.
