There was a lot of back and forth going on in Maharashtra BJP as the BJP discussed on the probable names for the post of Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The names of former Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, BJP leader Vinod Tawde and Devendra Fadanvis were were in the race.
In an unprecedented electoral sweep which Maharashtra hadn't witnessed since the 1980s, the ruling Mahayuti had won 230 of the 288 seats in the State’s Assembly election. The BJP had emerged as the single largest party, winning 132 seats on its own. The results have given an upper hand to BJP in Maharashtra and the developments that happened during the past one week suggested that BJP may very well have the Chief Minsters post of Maharashtra.
Devendra Fadanvis was the Chief Minister of Maharashtra between 2014 to 2019. Fadanvis had become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for just 80 hours in 2019 after which Uddhav Thackrey of Shivsena forged a coalition ousting Fadanvis from his chair. The BJP then won 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) 54, Congress 44.
After the humiliation Fadanvis had said "Mi Punha Yeyin" (Il be back again) which became the talk of the town and a troll for BJP.
